down to these two: Kobo Aura and Kindle PW

It will be one of these two. I am a beginner as they call it. I have a Sony PRS-T1 and a Kobo mini. I just purchase books from Kobo (no Sony store anymore of course) and I used to borrow library books. I do like purchasing from Amazon too, they have a lot of titles, and I love the previews. What would you recommend? I think both will be an upgrade from what I have and both will be my first frontlit ereader too. |

Well, according to your profile you are from Canada, so library books are a no-go on the Kindle. You can always use Kindle for PC and Apprentice Alf to DeDRM Amazon books and read them on other devices. |

The H2O is the nicest peice of kit around at the moment. Borrow library books. If you buy Amazon books, strip the drm using calibre and apprentice alf and cokvert them to epibs. | |

The touchscreen on the H2O is inaccurate and can be a real pain to use when it comes to tasks like selecting hyperlinks for endnotes. The Kindle also has much better dictionaries.

I've got an Aura and love how small and portable it is. Even the new Voyage is still bigger than the Aura.

If you're speaking specifically of the Kobo Aura (not the HD or H2O), be aware that it's on sale at $99 for (I believe) another week. You need to use a coupon code -- don't know what it is right now, but look it up in the "Bargain" forum if you're interested.
