iPad Air 2 No Calibre Connection

My iPad Air, iPad 3, iPhone 6, and iPhone 4 are all able to use the Calibre Connection with no problems. However, my iPad Air 2 will not connect. Is there something different in the new Air that prevents the connection?

It must be something to do with the Air 2. I did all of the steps you mentioned and found that I was unable to 'customize' the plugin.' An error of, 'No module named PyQt4,' comes up. I didn't mention that all devices are running iOS 8.1. I'm thinking this is Calibre related and/or plugin related.

Just to add my experiences, running OS X Yosemite, Calibre 2.8, cannot connect to my new iPad Air 2 via Calibre. Others have mentioned issues if their book count goes over a certain quantity, in my case I'm only reading 6 using Marvin. The iPad Air is running IOS 8.1.

I'm having the same issue. My iPad mini retina and iPhone 6 connect just fine, but the iPad air 2 doesn't connect at all. Edit: Also confirmed that a mini 3 has the same issue. Has anyone come up with a solution? Last edited by Mr. Goodbar; 11-05-2014 at 03:17 PM. |

I have the same problem with an iPad Air and an iPad mini connecting to an iMac running Yosemite. My current workaround is simply to copy the ebook on to the iPad and iPad mini via the OPDS connection. It's not very satisfactory since the collections info and reading list don't come across that way, so I have to manually set that info on the iPad and iPad mini. There doesn't seem to be any movement on resolving the issue, at least on the Mac side of things. It doesn't appear that the database is actually corrupt, just that for some reason the iOS plugin can't read the database. It's somewhat frustrating simply because it use to work, now it doesn't and I don't know the person who originally wrote the plugin has dropped the project or not. |

Definitely frustrating. What's odd is that it will work on a mini retina or iPad air running the same iOS versions and the same version of marvin. Seems almost like the plugin is looking for a device specific identifier that has changed with the newest versions of the iPad.

Watch this space for news: https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=249301 Looks like the Windows libimobiledevice issue has been solved, now Windows successfully gets the same malformed database errors.. Anyway, ShellShock is now working on cracking that as well (and thinks he may have found the problem). The fix should work for OSX as well. |
