Published date Jan 0101
All the books that I am importing since the latest update to 2.8 have a published date of Jan 0101. How do I correct this. I am going into each book and changing the date, but how do I get it to stop doing this.

That date is supposed to equal 'Un defined' (no date) and not show. Does any of your Metadata source choices supply 'Published' ? If you have only a single source, that may be broken due to a site change (hint: tell us the name )If that is not the problem: Until Kovid figures something: Get a PC ![]() (couldn't resist ) Moderator Notice
EDIT Was solved. Merged threads Last edited by theducks; 11-02-2014 at 08:52 AM. Reason: Merged with the solution thread |

I have now version 2.9 but there is one problem left. When i use the Bol.com plugin and I go to that site i use always the isbn number. Then i run Calibre to search in Bol.com. He get the information but i see a different publishing date. One month different between what Bol.com had on there site and what Calibre fills in. On the Bol.com site there is standing March 2013 but i get Februari 2013 in Calibre. PrBarnart who made the plugin doesn`t know why there is an one month different publishing date.

It will be a timezone issue, in some timezones the 1st of a month will be the last day of the previous month. Tell him to use the calibre.utils.date.parse_only_date function or to manually set the day of the date to 2nd instead of first. Or set the timezne info on the date to the local timezone.

Just upgraded to 2.9 and still can't change the Published date manually. I'm trying to type just a year, say 1953, and nothing happens. Any hints?
I'm running on Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bits. |

Hi, Setting the day to 2nd , as default, is a workaround. What did change in calibre for this issue,because version 2.6 gave no problems with this at all. I was used to create the date by: Code:
from calibre.utils.date import utc_tz
return datetime.datetime(year, month, day, tzinfo=utc_tz)

The date is displayed in the local timezone, if you set to to the a particular day in the UTC timezone, that might be the previous day in the local timezone. Either use the second or use local timezone.
