I'm not just talking the iPad. Google released a $400 tablet yesterday too. | |

I really like my ipad and when it finally dies (or I break it) I will look for another one. I use it home more than my desktop for 90% of my computer usage. Im looking at getting a Iphone 6+ but I know it wont replace the ipad anymore than my current iphone5 does. Im not a fan of the term phablet and while I like the bigger screen for a phone 5.7 even 6 inches does not a tablet make. Yes i can watch a movie in a pinch or type up a longer email but to me its a PITA and I will turn on the iPad and use my Brydge Keyboard. Yes its more expensive than the competition but comparing the standard ipad at 8.9 inches and the others its not too far out of line, and Im tied into the eco-system for Apple and it just all works for me. The latest IOS upgrade was detrimental to my ipad2 as its slowed it down a bit but so it goes. Im confident a fix will follow and either way its probably good for another year or so as long as I dont break it and then its time for new one. At $500 if it lasts 4 years $125 a year is worth for all the use Ive gotten out if it. |

Pixelmator was the only thing that mattered today, and the $499 Mac Mini. I got everything I wanted in those two announcements. |

He spent a lot of time on the iPad Air 2, then basically just said, "Oh and we have a new iPad mini 3" and quickly moved on without discussing its specs! Except for the new iMac 27" 5K Retina I was not really impressed. Not much new or innovative, but I guess that is to be expected. I was glad to see an update to the Mac Mini though, but I need to check the specs to see if it was worth the two year wait or just another lackluster update. But at least the simulcast worked this time!!!! |

That 5K retina was impressive! I want a new iPad... but I won't buy it. Mine still works fine. I was disappointed that there were no new iPods. Everyone seemed subdued today and Phil Schiller looked bad. No cheers from the crowd... it all just seemed weird to me. |

I'm afraid so.... I'm kind of surprised as it has been the top selling iPod, I think. I just looked up the specs on the new Mac Mini. My two year old Mac Mini has a 2.5 GHz i5, the new one only stepped up to a 2.6 GHz i5. Boring, lackluster, disappointing... |

Because they did not change anything on the iPad mini 3. Same size, same everything, same weight. Only difference is fingerprint sensor and instead of 16/32 gb versions it got now 16/64/128 gb. Only the iPad Air 2 got the M8x processor and new 8mp camera - mini still got the old 5mp. Maybe the Mini 3 got almost nothing new to not cannibalize the Air 2 sales?

But looks like the Mini 2 64 and 128 gb versions are not availlable no more - at least on apple store. They changed even less then.

That's what Apple generally do when new models are released: retain the bottom-end version of the older model, but stop selling the larger-memory versions.
