If I need to adjust fast, I long tap and use the menu, if I adjust only a little, I use the swiping.

Despite Koreader is improving day after day with nightly builds, I still prefer coolreader for reading my epubs in my kobo aura. However, I wonder if coolreader is still in development and if we can expect an update some day. Showing actual book cover when sleeping would be a nice feature, as an example... Thanks. |

Hi, Using the new Aura H2O, CoolReader does not work properly. It loads fine, but the menu system is not responsive. Nothing can be selected, not even the exit button. Needed to reboot the device . Any suggestions. Oh, it runs great on the AuraHD. SH |

I can confirm this, I had exactly the same happen, loader loads, but is unresponsive. Power button will make it sleep then wake again, long press does not power off.

Probably thay've changed the touch screen handling in the new Aura H2O. Does koreader work with H2O?

 battery drain in sleep mode

Hi, I left my Aura in sleep mode in coolreader for 4 days without touching it and with 50% battery left. Today I tried to wake it up, but battery was completely empty. So, is coolreader consuming battery when device is in sleep mode? Thanks! |

pblasi, no one program can work in the sleep mode becaause CPU is sleeping. If your battery is empty then it means that your reader wasn't sleep. Actually it's a kind of pain to turn kobo into the sleep mode. There were problems with Aura and Aura HD. I can't do very much in this direction because I have Kobo Glo and it sleeps fine...

i love it, thank you sergeyvl12. i made coolreaader in autorun with advboot, and its need then only 10 sec to reach the book from the device off. i could sort my dictionaries in the order i wished by creating subfolder. also the 70mo version of wikt-en-ALL-2014-09-13 only show the english part. do you plan to add a pdf pluggin in futur? but its already like a dream. Greetings to all. On my Kobo Aura HD with firmware 3.8.0 installed CoolReader. Books for it are found in the .Books, that they have not been indexed Nickel. Now my problem is: if the mac OS to put the book into that folder, then there are additional files such as ._ xxxx (the book's title). They are not visible on mac OS, but can be seen in the reader. How to get rid of them?

I'm on 3.8 firmware version. Maybe with an older firmware will sleep mode work? Thanks Last edited by pblasi; 10-10-2014 at 03:53 AM.

Ask the question differently: when copying books on Kobo Aura HD using Mac OS next to the file book appears a hidden file with the same name, but the size of about 4 kb. CoolReader sees it, but of course can not open and can not delete. Nickel does not see it as vad hidden for him, but the most interesting thing I've found, and Mac does not see this as a display of hidden files. Remove this debris can only Windows. How to compete with this?

You're looking for info on how to remove a "resource fork" file created by OS/X on a FAT volume. See http://makandracards.com/makandra/71...olume-on-macos for one solution (which I have NO idea if it works, not being a MAC user).

Thank you, that's what was needed. I found a tool that removes the metadata.
