My favorite e-readers for organization are still the late departed Sonys, so I'm not sure whether my next reader will be the H2O or the Voyage. Certainly, my Aura HD is recent enough not to need to be refreshed for epub, but I'm still partial to my jailbroken, patch-fondled KK for the freedom it affords with KF and I'm not fond of the way that past Kindles have organized libraries. I'll be watching Voyage threads to see how customizable it proves to be. User-determined screensavers would make the purchase a tad more attractive. |

If you use a sleep case (and virtually all cases these days are sleep cases) you'll never see the screensaver.

[Image too big - added as an attachment]I think the Voyage screen looks fairly nice. If it my Voyage looks anything like this, I think I will be glad I upgraded from the KPW2. Found it here: http://www.gizmodo.de/2014/10/02/ers...nds-video.html Last edited by pdurrant; 10-03-2014 at 05:05 AM. |

Wow, that screen does look nice. If I didn't have a couple working readers I might bite the bullet and overpay. Maybe I can justify (rationalize?) it next year. Really look forward to reading reactions here once it drops. |

If you are subject to ebook taxes, it doesn't depend on where Amazonis, but where the publisher is. I had very view taxes, but mostly no tax on ebooks.

Ugh. It still looks like the voyage has the same margins as the pw2. That's dissapointing. I looked at a pw2 at best buy and the thing that really bothered me was how much space was wasted by the margins. I'm used to a patched aura hd, which has very little wasted space. Maybe it was just the sample books, though. The fonts also weren't very good.

^^^ well you can reduce the margins on the paper white but it takes some doing. You have to jailbreak and apply a patch, not just add a line to a config file. Of course there is no telling yet if the voyage can be even jail broken. |

I think you need margins for a good experience and I understand Amazon's decision not to let people change it to much. Having the text to near the side will for most people look very strange and not be optimal for reading and is not good advertising for a Kindle. | |

I use my kindle with the margins at the thinnest and the lines the widest, that's perfect for me as I hate it when lines are too close. I've never had an issue on the kindle for those settings, I'd just like better font choice.

I guess, with all the high taxes you have to pay in California, you deserve at least one (small) break. Kindle eBooks are taxed in Texas.
