Just ordered Kindle Voyage 2014

I have 1,373 points pending from a washer / dryer purchase but may not use them for the Voyage since it could postpone my order well into 2015.

Right now from Amazon my order is scheduled to ship on Nov 28, 2014.

As I remember the initial shipments of PW 2012 and PW 2013 had large amounts of posters here reporting serious defects.

I'm hoping by the end of November Amazon will correct their assembly lines and QA when my unit is supposed to be shipped.

Just ordered a wifi SO Voyage today and got an estimated delivery date of November 13-15 with free shipping. Perhaps they have picked up production since estimated dates were a month later just a few days ago.

In addition to the new features, I'm hopping to have a Kindle that can finally begin to approach the build quality of my old Sony PRS-500 and PRS-505.

Not sure when Amazon started offering this, but they have a payment option where you can pay 20% when it ships, then for the next 4 months they will bill the rest. Its interest free, no fees. Pretty good deal if you want to spread out the payments. I re-ordered using this option and canceled my original order. Still got Nov 13-15 ship date.

The Paperwhite2 had hardly no complaints at all, if my memory is correct.

It was the previous model with the splotchy colors that garnered so many complaints and returns, generating numerous threads here on Mobileread.

PW1 was color blotches. PW2 was pinholes.

They've done it off and on for a couple of years. Not everyone is eligible for the offer, not sure what the selection criteria is (seems random).

I have noticed in the adds Amazon calls it the Voyage, thus I typically refer to the reader as the Amazon Voyage, omitting the word Kindle. I don't think the voyage is part of the kindle line up.

Amazon shows it in their Kindle lineup and their product pages call it the "Kindle Voyage."

Me too, on board, a 3G model. Finally no more traipsing around trying to find a signal to check out the deal of the day. Hope it is all the reviews are saying it is. I think it will be, the PW2 was, to my mind/eyes, a better beastie than PW1, so screen issues should be resolved and the product match its description this time round. Hope so.

Oh, just one thing. I can not get my head around the origami thing - flip top not working for me and all the bendy bits.... want something simple, so I do hope they also come out with a simple book type cover as they have for the PW. Great little cover that.
