Another junk and money sucker from Amazon. It's an Amazon specified OS, not a Google OS tablet. Many features and functions are locked or cut off, useless. I got one, returned it.

Except ereader device, any other tablet used for reading is directly to damage your eyes without recover. Don't lie to people. Tablet is harmful critically to eyes, if for reading.

So it harms your eyes if you are reading on it, but not if you watch movies? Really, please backup such claims with evidence... And eye-strain ! = critical damage.

Come Black Friday, this will be a hot seller for Amazon. A full fledged Fire tablet with 2 cameras, 5 colors to choose from, Family Library, FreeTime, and only $99 (and possibly discounted for BF). It's a no brainer choice for younger kids.

I predict a big hit for Amazon.

Most definitely!

Although I don't need it, I'll more than likely get a 6". I like the size and it should prove to be a fun little toy to play with and drag around places. Just wish that Amazon was a bit more progressive - banana yellow would've been an awesome color choice

I've been looking at these, and I was on the cusp of saying yes to the 6" version, then I realized they have no card slot! I'd really like to support Amazon here, as doing a 6" tablet is not the trend, by far; but really are shooting themselves in the foot with some of their most basic choices here.

None of Amazon's tablets have card slots.

The 6" will be a hit. This thing is targeted for kids (and monkey kids). It's very affordable, small in size, colorful choices, kid friendly software, tons of free content, etc.

Amazon misstepped with the Fire Phone and overpriced the Voyage a bit; but not so with these Fires. These will sell.

Too dull. Needs to be brighter.

How old are they? $20 off would be a good sale. I'm waiting until BF before I pull the trigger; but pay attention to the stock. If these things start flying off the shelves and delivery times start getting longer, paying full price for a Christmas present is better than paying sale price for a New Years present.

One is 8 (almost 9) and the other is 11. They love their Nook HD tablets, both of which have the Amazon app store on them, but no cameras. The camera on the Fire 6 may not be great, but hopefully, it will be fun. The older girl had a Lenovo with a camera, but I sold that POS and got her a Nook. The Nooks have held up really well! The Fires will not be replacements, they will be supplements.

Well at any rate, I'll see how I like the one I get Oct 16, then I'll know if I should get one or two. (If I hate it, I'll give it to them).

I don't need another tablet, since I already have more than I can use, plus my phone is a Note2 phablet, but the price and fun colors are getting to my head. If Amazon had made the front in the same color as the back, or at least white, I would not even hesitate.
Pink just doesn't look so pretty with a black bezel and black front.

Monkey, maybe you could knit it a sock-suit!
