My PW1 is too small to hold all my books, so I was planning to get a new Kindle anyway. The better screen and lighter weight (and of course the extra space) are what I'm looking forward to.

I'll be getting a Voyage. I bought a PRS-600 for $300, so the $200 asking price doesn't seem that exorbitant to me.

I am looking at both the voyage and the kobo Aura H20. At the moment to Aura is winning.

I went ahead and pre-ordered the Voyage to reserve the release-day delivery, but I haven't decided whether to go through with the order or not.

I see that it is an unpopular choice, but I believe that I am going to get another Paperwhite, after getting rid of my first two (both had manufacturing problems). The 167ppi on the new basic touch Kindle is not really an upgrade over the screen on the current basic 5-button Kindle that I have, while the PW at 212, and with better screen tech generally is a definite upgrade. The light will be nice as well (that has actually been the hardest thing to live without, in my opinion). I don't like how much the PW weighs, but I can adjust to it. The Voyage is intriguing, and I can justify $200 on an e-reader (I read for hours every day) but I'm kind of attracted to the middle option at this point. BTW, I told my wife yesterday that I bet they keep the PW around as a middle tier option and I was right! First time ever! Now, what I didn't see coming was them leaving my Fire HDX 7" as it is, and upgrading the 8.9". But I like it, makes sense. And the Fire HDX 7" is still a potent device in the 7" category of tablets. And it will get the Sangrita (Fire OS 4.0) upgrade this fall. Totally looking forward to that. |

			I'm all over it. I skipped PW2 and I think I will be glad I did. |

I have the Paperwhite 2 (which is really close to perfection) and still consider Voyage to be an instant buy when it becomes available internationally. It is also the first time I've looked at a new kindle and not had some concerns about missing any aspect of my current kindle. All the new improvements are awesome :-) |

The PW2 is near perfect for me. I do miss having page-turn buttons, but not to the tune of $200-$300. There just aren't enough differences to make it worth upgrading. |

I love my PW2. I am lucky I managed to buy a certified refurbished one a few weeks ago for $89 as a spare. I am trying to decide whether to get a Voyage or an Aura H2O when I upgrade. I am waiting for reviews and comparison videos before finally deciding. Voyage certainly looks good. It is interesting that Kobo decided to only release a premium eReader this time. Nook chose to collaborate with Samsung to produce a Samsung Nook. Amazon chose to release a premium eReader at $199 minimum and raised the price of a hardly improved Basic Kindle. Is the race to the price bottom now over? If it is.......could it be that PW2 will be the most cost effective n value for money eReader ever? Time will tell. Amazon's launch of Kindle Fire 6 at $99 probably means that for tablets.....that race is still on. Yeah I will buy a Kindle Fire 6.....it does many things and it is good for reading too. It is time I upgraded my first gen kindle fire. I still use that about twice a week. Sorry for going off tangent. Couldn't stop myself..... Last edited by chanfm; 09-18-2014 at 08:28 PM. |

Me? I'm waiting for the Kobo Aura H2O release reviews. If they fix the software issues, it looks like a much better device at a better price and I'll upgrade to that, instead. I don't much care about the water-resistance but the bigger screen and better typography, together with an SD card makes it look like a great alternative. |

I won't be upgrading right now but probably will buy the Voyage when my Kindle Keyboard dies.

There's no way I'd be looking to upgrade until 2015 (at the very earliest, and probably more like 2016/2016) so the point is moot to me!
