They should have upgraded their server to more than a gig of RAM. It is not the first time they come out with something new. Does this happen everytime?

I found pre-ordering via Apple to be impossible. I was able to do it via AT&T's website instead, and even that was painful and took an hour.

That iPhone 6 looks sweet, as does the Galaxy 5S and a few others out there, but with my budget, I'm afraid they're all out of my reach, especially with the monthly contract thrown in. Still, I want something, so I just bought a LG Volt prepaid phone.

You could look at Motorola, the G and E are very good for the price. I recently had relatives buying both, one of each, and both are a fine piece of kit. The G is certainly worth the extra $50 though.

On Republic Wireless you can get a Moto G for 149 and a Moto X for 300.
Low internal memory in both.
Also no memory card slot, and non-user removable batteries.

These limitations are some of the reasons I am going with Freedom Pop

Motorola recently updated the Moto G to add LTE and a SD card slot (as in the E). There is yet another update (the Moto G 2014) that basically stretches the screen to 5", while leaving the rest the same as the original G.

The batteries are still non-removable on all of them.

Thanks, I didn't know that. Did the Moto X also get the SD card slot in a new version?

I have noticed a problem with the new versions of G and X where the phrase "new improved model" is used but not something more definitive like Moto X II or Moto G II, but maybe I have just missed it.

I learned long ago to always use very definite changes in the "model designation" to indicate and clarify changes in the product.

No, the new X still has no SD card slot. I presume on the G it was a more pressing matter as the entry model only has 8GB - and on the E is definitively a must, given that it only comes with 4GB, almost half of which is already used by the OS itself.

The E must be similar the Samsung Victory 4G LTE. Only 4G storage there too.

It is interesting in the video to see the screen still works just fine. Maybe the reason to opt out of saphire glass in order to be more bendy?

There is a follow-up video where it cracked when he tried to bend it back. He also tries to bend a Galaxy note 3 and it's not so easy - plastic is superior to metal after all. I had a metal phone once and it bent so much the back kept falling off.
