Granted : VW bought GM for a song, they were then in turn taken over by Tata, who were then easily succumbed by Toyota - we all now drive around in toy cars, powered by electricity from pedal-power-drived generators - then at the last minute they were taken over by Microsoft in league with Sir Clive Sinclair. I wish angels really existed at the bottom of our garden ... |

Okay. I can live with that. It still beats bailing-out GM.

Granted. Radioflyertoo is now doing his own washing up in the nearest stream without soap. I wish I hadn't just watched an episode of Family Guy that involved a naked Bill Clinton doing a song and dance routine. |

I should at this point out that Microsoft required, as part of the take-over, required that all cars have their systems to run their new OS. This has the side effect of causing the motor to run madly, even when not needed and gives the average car a range of about 100 yards before requiring re-charging. Microsoft promptly introduce SP1, which consists of a giant diesel generator in a trailer that plugs into the charging socket of the car. Unfortunately, the car also automatically updates is OS every 3 months, which also requires a new larger generator to drive it. This means that everyone must replace their car every 2 years with a new larger stronger car capable of moving the new generator required to power the newly improved more efficient software and electronics. The resulting piles of old cars that cannot be used produce a new set of environmental nightmares, not to mention supply chain nightmares. And don't even get me started about the new Microsoft SatNav with Mr Clippy, the routing wizard. "Where do you want to go today" my foot. Quote:

I wish Steve Jordan would write more noir stories since the last noir story he wrote was IMHO his best writing to date.
