Come to think of it, if I could use my Kobo H2O in the bath, that would be pretty awesome.

I don't see why they would do this. If it was then it would be totally locked down like the Sony T3 version of Android. As a book vendor, they want you to purchase from their store which is not something that you would be doing if you could install any old reader app.

unless someone now makes waterproof Sd cards and interfaces, I reckon there will be no external storage on a waterproof reader

I am having trouble grasping how any such device can survive being dropped into a bath of hot soapy water. I bet the lawyers dilute the small print down to something like - ok to read in light showers or maybe they'll remake the old levi 501 laundrette ads, & the guy can add his kobo to the wash, along with his jeans cue: "..heard it through the grapevine...." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q56M5OZS1A8 Last edited by cybmole; 08-23-2014 at 07:56 AM.

I probably wait 'till the Netronix 6.8" with Android hits the markets (and under which brandnames). Pretty much the same device and made by the same manufacturer. This assures a good build quality as I'm not so confident that the build quality of the Onyx Boox T68 will be just as good. Android adds more flexibility to install a device. fix: video Last edited by Anak; 08-24-2014 at 04:59 AM.

2.) Since I've destroyed 3 of my phones a few years ago by using them for about 2 hours in the steamy bathroom while in the bathtub, I'm careful about gadgets. Most of the times, I only have my MacBook Air on a chair next to the bathtub, but no gadgets directly with me anymore. Additionally, I tend to fall asleep in the bathtub and always worry about dropping some gadget into the water. 3.) As "low profile" as possible. I love the simple looks of Kindle, I don't like the ugly Kobo Aura HD very much. 4.) I love the free 3G in Kindles, but this probably won't happen in any other units. About the rest I don't care. Android OS would be helpful, but I'll go for a "standard" reader as well.

http://waterfi.com/waterproof-kindle It's nothing new, can be done for quite a few years already. And it definitely works!
