Also covers not match.

They seem to be. Both are edited by the same man and while not every author is listed on the Kobo page those that are match up with the author's who are listed on the cover of the Amazon copy. I think what happened is that it has been out in epub for several yrs and now that Amazon has started to offer it for the Kindle they have come up with their own cover to distinguish it from the Kobo cover. Of course I could be wrong, but with so many things being identical it looks like they are the same book.

No, i dont' think it's only a Kindle re-edition of a kobo version.

If you carefully look at the link you've posted:

you can realize that the "kobo" version is showed by amazon in the "Customers Who Viewed This Item Also Viewed" section of the page.

Not unheard of. There may be a "The Mammoth Book of Steampunk 2" somewhere, and this would be a combined version. Similar to the very confusing circumstances around Halo: Evolutions.

They are two different books.

The Mammoth Book of Steampunk published in 2012

Mammoth Book Of Steampunk Adventures published in 2014
Notice it even says it's from the editor of the previous book.


Mammoth books often involve the same authors over again, after all why mess with what works. The new one will eventually be available at Kobo, B&N, etc. I would assume, but they often seem to get pre-orders later than Amazon. The 2nd one will likely drop in price at some point too as it appears to be around full list right now.

However, this may not be the one that has the word "Adventures" at the end, as additional information now shows.

In other words, this may not be the newer one.

But still, that's a great price at 40% off with that coupon, if one wants that title. I'm thinking about buying it!
