Thanks, all. I have very mixed feelings about this, having been a freelancer for the last 12 years. But it will be a pleasant change to get a paycheque every two weeks. And to know how much it will be!

It helps you stay in shape. (grins) It is such a fun stage, watching him discover the world around him and seeing him learn and grow. It is a crazy experience.

Working on an Oolong blend. I didn't have enough of one so I added it to another. Not bad.

Oh, I know how valuable it can be.

The nice thing is that this whole thing is structured in such a way that I can continue to work on book projects. I just need to balance that with my 1/2 time job. And it's for a company that I have known and liked for many years, and whose products I use and endorse. Makes it easy to be enthusiastic. But it's going to be a struggle in other ways, because I know that this could easily be a more than full time job. So limiting it is going to be my challenge.

I've done that more than once. With results from Nice to Meh.

Just now sitting down to tea #1. I'm home alone this week and busier than ever. So far today I drove up to my old hometown to have a shoe repair place take a look at a pair of my daughter's shoes.* Bad news -- the root problem is they're just cheap shoes, and it would cost more to fix them than a new pair of good shoes would cost.

And I can't visit there without stopping in at my favorite used book store. Picked up some issues of Galaxy Science Fiction magazine from the early 60s.

* It's a family business, currently run by brothers I went to high school with. While others have gone out of business, they now have a large national (and growing international) customer base via the web.

Good morning, all! It just feels like a Mississippi John Hurt sort of day. Bouncy blues... something learn to play today! I've got a mug full of Viang Joom On's "English Breakfast" tea to drink, new strings on my guitar, sun shining in the window, and it's gonna be a really good day!
