Well, I hope this solves my huge battery drain I just started seeing. Charged my PW2 this last week, and it's down to like 20% already, and all I'm doing is reading. |

I noticed the same on mine. I sent an email to Amazon asking them to change how they are handling collections because it is killing my battery with this constant server updating. They truly DID NOT think that through at all. At this point I have to keep my wifi off at all times because my battery doesn't make it through two days otherwise.

Didn't realize it had to do with collections either, and I have LOADS. | |

Me too, I have close to 150 collections and with my library borrows over 4000 books in my library. So I am sure you can imagine how long it would take to update their servers since every book is in at least 2 collections. I've even been debating back and forth with myself to get a second eink device just so it can manage my collections and I can keep my wifi off on my pw2 permanently. I had bought the basic kindle but I returned it because it didn't have Cloud Collections capability. I think I am going to be stuck until/unless I upgrade to the 2014 Fire.

After I installed update my Kindle lags very badly... After that I install JB... What happens if I reset device? Is there any way for me to rollback to previous fw?

Resetting the device has no effect on a Jailbreak. You're a lot more likely to get help on JB questions if you ask in the "Developer's Corner" subforum.

Actually, a factory reset does kill a rather important part of the K5 JB, a part which will come back to bite you in the ass if you ever update your device later . (And it of course generally throws a wrench in a bunch of other stuff, since it clears user content & settings). That said, you will definitely get much more detailed answers in the Dev corner, and an answer to your second question (spoiler: yes) . |

My Kindle just updated to 5.4.3.2. It also had a book on it to explain the changes. Quote:

That is the standard, generic letter that doesn't really say anything.

I'm guessing you skipped a couple of updates. That letter was sent out when Cloud Collections were 'improved', I think that was 5.4.3.0. The last two updates (for both PW1 and PW2) have not been feature-bearing.

Hi guys, I just updated to 5.4.4.2 from 5.3 something. The problem is that I do not have goodreads button, why? I did restarting, deregistering etc but nothing helps... Do you maybe know what is the issue? |
