My Kindle is in a silicone case. No front cover, no pockets.

Mine never had a pocket, but I have slipped in papers behind the reader.

I tried to use the pockets on my Nook Color case sometimes, but either things would be too bulky or not secure enough. None of my current cases have pockets, and I don't miss them. I carry a "tactical field bag" (*cough*manpurse*cough*) much of the time, and/or stash things in my car.
My KPW case has a handstrap, which I don't use much either, but it seems more practical than a pocket. |

I use the pocket on my Kindle keyboard case all the time. It's perfect to stick my drivers license & bank card so I don't have to lug a purse around. Right now it also has a coupon for hair cuts, a Finding Nemo sticker and a tea bag!

The only time I use the pockets is when I'm flying. Mine has one for an id which I use when going through security and a bigger one for my plane tickets.

My NOOK Tablet lived in a tri-fold leather case with one large and 5 small horizontal pockets, and one large vertical pocket, in which I saved: . A $20 bill . An airline baggage tag with my name and contact info on it . A bookmark that triples as a ruler and magnifying glass . My BN Member card (which I've purposely let lapse) . Business cards collected on any given day, that I need to scan into my electronic address book . Dry cleaners and shoe repair pick-up receipts . A microfibre cleaning cloth . Handwritten instructions for rebooting the NT, when it froze or wouldn't start, and for other nifty NT tricks . Occasional handwritten notes or lists not entered into an app . Printed instructions from my library for sideloading books (no longer needed) . Upcoming dental/medical/optical appointment cards When I replaced the NT, I couldn't find a similar tri-fold case for the NOOK HD and settled for a dual-fold case with a single large, horizontal, inside pocket. That new pocket now holds the: . $20 bill . airline baggage tag with my name and contact info on it . bookmark that triples as a ruler and magnifying glass . occasional handwritten lists and notes not entered into an app OT: I now also carry a small electronics case that serves both my NOOK and smartphone. It contains: .Another $20 bill and airline baggage tag .Some items previously carried in the NT case: appointment cards, business cards, handwritten notes/lists, microfibre cloth, pick-up receipts for the dry cleaners and shoe repair . Earphones .An I/O Magic Portable Power Pack .The power cords for my devices .A stylus (rarely used) .A thumb drive Last edited by Froide; 04-03-2014 at 11:41 PM. |

If any of my ebook reader cases had pockets, I've never noticed them.
The cover for my NOOK HD+ tablet has a vertical side pocket that I noticed just recently; I stuck the receipt with the due date for the kids' library books into the case and saw later that there was a pocket that they could go into. It's perfect, because I can have a bit of the paper showing to remind me they are there but is big enough to secure them so I don't have to worry about them falling out. (The description of the case on the website describes additional pockets that are neither in the picture nor on my case. I like the cleaner design without them.) |

I attempted to cut the pocket off my (unofficial) Kobo case. I felt that the "corner" of it was poking into the screen, which is the exact opposite of everything I want from a case. The pocket was kind of a smaller rectangle attached on two edges. I turned it into more of a triangle. Made a bit of a mess of it, too, but I only use the case for transport and it suffices.
My Nook and Kindle cases don't have pockets. |

The zip pocket of my ereader case/sleeve contains my USB cable, a safety-pin for resetting the device, a microfiber cloth and multiple Kobo gift cards.

I keep a paperclip in my Gecko covers (Aura HD and Sony PRS-T1 before that) in case I need to reset my reader but I wouldn't miss the pocket if it wasn't there.

When I had a case with a pocket it held the microfiber cloth to wipe the screen. Now I just lay the cloth flat over the screen before I close the cover. I always wanted a cover with a long narrow pocket to slip one of my many bookmarks into. While I no longer need a paper bookmark I do miss playing with the tassel while I read.

If they didn't have the pocket, people would complain. Better to have a pocket that people don't use than not have one for those who need it.
I made my own sleeve (only need it to protect screen from scratches from stuff in my purse) with no pocket. I made my sister's with a gusset pocket so she had a place to put her cord and plug (into the wall). Complete with a handle since she doesn't carry a purse. I keep a cleaning cloth in the pocket and my boarding pass when I fly. Since I am usually reading right up 'til I have to board the plane and want to resume as soon as I'm settled, it's nice not to have to dig through my purse or my carry-on for the boarding pass.
