Well, since you waited until I went home from work ('preciate it), I'll have to let you know if I feel the EMP from Germantown...

Either that, of I've seriously overshot and Marc is about to be woken up by his ABM system kicking into overdrive...

Hmm... this thread is giving competition to the Corrupt-A-Topic thread... Has anyone noticed the new Chevron commercial posters that feature some yuppie-looking yahoo and text that suggests they are finally considering doing something vaguely "green," like driving less, or turning the lights out when they leave, or "considering a hybrid" (I love that one... "Yup, I considered it, and I bought the Tahoe instead")? I'm not sure which bugs me the most... the fact that, coming from Chevron, the attempt to persuade us that an oil company thinks "green" is as transparent as air... or the idea that it took recent events for the supposedly intelligent-looking people in the posters to only now start to think "green." Considering that there's nothing those ad-yahoos are considering that I haven't been doing for the past 30 years. This hits me a lot like cigarette company ads: "It's dangerous to smoke! It's bad for you! Think about that, while you pick up your next case." Anyone else feel as insulted as I do by this? (Yes... I do this because I'm back at work, and don't want to see anyone's trebuchet targeting solutions worked out for at least the next 8 hours...) |

No blinky ads on the page for me right now... just the little text blurbs about... lemme check... readers and ebooks, of all things! And something about noises your phone can make at the bottom.

I wonder if a Zany Carter Patricia is an antidote to the avatar?
