I don't mind so much when a short story just stops, but if I read a whole book, it damn well better have closure. Last edited by Catlady; 01-06-2014 at 03:30 PM. | |

Read 3 out of 10. I was actually quite excited to read Life After Life but I just couldn't get into it so cast it aside. I still want to check out Atkinson's Case Histories novel. Max Barry's Lexicon was quite good, I was pleasantly surprised, I almost didn't even bother since his last book, Man Machine, didn't make the cut after reading a sample. It has an intriguing (though admittedly, pretty farfetched) sci-fi premise and reads like a well-written spy thriller. NOS4A2 was okay, which is the same opinion I had of his first two. I keep waiting for Joe Hill churn out a great book but he hasn't managed it yet, in my humble opinion. Papa Steve's 2013 offering, Doctor Sleep, was vastly superior I thought. I've had my eye on few of the others, like Flame Throwers and the Neil Gaiman. |

5, 7, 8 and 10 get my vote for most interesting titles I've only read Gaiman's quite poetic book |
