Exchange the unit.
 Quote:
If others had posted in this thread the same experience, then it could have been the app or the firmware. Since no one has posted similar problems, the unit must be defective. Its possible the unit was infected by a virus. If you purchased the unit from Amazon, you will have a new unit by tomorrow and they will issue a label for the return. All other apps behave as it's suppose to it's the Kindle app that is broken. I submitted a bug report and I will wait to hear back from Amazon.

 Uninstall the Kindle app.

If Amazon recognizes the problem and then fixes the app, you can always re-install it at that time. Last edited by sirmaru; 12-17-2013 at 04:36 PM.

I'm going to clear data, sync everything, and see what happens. (I'm running Android 4.2.2 on a Droid Maxx, BTW) UPDATE: Still screwy. So, I removed my Amazon account from the device via Android settings. Then went to the Kindle app, where it asked me for my login information once again...and things seem to be back to normal. I shall see... Last edited by bwaldron; 12-17-2013 at 05:00 PM.

Yeah, that's the plan. I'll also check on the data usage -- mine has never been nearly that large, even with a good number of books on the device (and about 1500 in my Amazon "cloud").

 True enough

Logos Bible apps could use up to 5 Gb depending on how many resources one loads on to the device. That is why 32 Gb memory is really required for all these tablets. By next year we may need 128 Gb just to survive. The apps will be growing in their disk space needs. Most smart phones have SD slots to build up memory capacity as well. My PC has 3 Tb of disk space and my external hard disk also has 3 Tb. My SSD has 1 Tb. Last edited by sirmaru; 12-17-2013 at 07:00 PM.

My N7 2013 and Kindle V4.3.0.44 uses a total of 143MB -- 38.45 for the app and 104 MB of data

No other app I have takes up more than 80MB. Kindle app is taking up 1.27GB!!! The Nexus only has 9GB available to began with. This is crazy.
