I just saw one in Waitrose @ Canary Wharf, their demo model is gorgeous....... Pity they wouldn't let me buy it.

I've ordered one from Amazon now, I should get it Tuesday, I'm just hoping its as lovely as the demo model, I'll be gutted if its not.

I meant I live on the southern end of the Isle of Dogs (close to Island Gardens DLR station), used to work at the Wharf until a few years ago. So it's just a quick hop away for me if you want to compare screens.

Well, I'm happy for you that yours is ok, but my PW1 has horrible light shadows even at low light levels. It really does create a criss-cross pattern of light and dark diamonds across several lines of text at the bottom. It seems worse than most of the pictures I've seen although I've seen a few others post similar photos so I just lived with it. Perhaps I got one at the lower end of acceptable values. In fact, I think the light shadows bother me more than the color blobs! Therefore I am very, very pleased (ecstatic even) that my PW2 has significantly improved this issue! The only issue I have is a little light bleed along the lower right edge. Everything else is great. Although, it took me 3 tries to get one without pinholes.

That is what I saw on all three of my PW1s, all of which I returned. I saw several posts with photos of them like that last year. Of course all three of mine were in the first batch so perhaps they had better batches later on.
