early line cutoff (often half a letter)

Hi I use Calibre e-book viewer at Windows 7. on every line on the columns (1 or 2) the last letters will be cut off early in a straight vertical line. Most often it's only the last letter that appears as half. In some font-styles or font-sizes words disappear at the ends. This may be two problems. Where the constant half letter are the most bothersome. |

All columns can be re-sized. There is a possibility that you have selected a font with poor size metrics. Try another font. Preferences:Look and Feel: Main Interface (tab) |

@tumler100 - try overwriting the margins in the Text layout in paged mode group of Viewer Preferences The viewer has what normal people call columns, see Viewer preferences Text layout in paged mode->The number of pages of text to show on a screen set it to something > 1. The icon at top right corner, looks a bit like a lectern, must not be pressed Text appears in columns like newspaper, magazine etc - there's more to life than ledgers and spreadsheets BR Last edited by BetterRed; 09-15-2013 at 06:48 PM. |

But the answer maybe to tick Override margins and use the defaults (10px) to create a gutter between pages. Even without this setting, my non-0 page side margins (2pt,16pt) don't crop, just looks crowded | |

It is a bug in Qt WebKit that affects certain fonts. You will need to change the fonts in the viewer preferences.
