Can fonts be sideloaded to the iphone app yet? I did Google searches and could not find a definitive answer. I suspect the answer is no, but hoping we can, or at least will be able to in the near future.

Not yet, but as you say, coming up. Your other concern, fully syncing annotations (also my current #1 concern), surely is at least as important as custom fonts. |

Yes, full syncing is very important to me. I went ahead and bought the iPhone app to get used to it. I'm going to try an ePub with embedded fonts to see if it will allow that.

Jon in the Beta-group has been dealing with and focusing on this particular custom fonts issue. I'm not sure what the current status of implementing them in Marvin is. And I'm not sure in which of Marvin's views/modes (the regular ones, or "Publisher Settings"...) the embedded fonts would show up. (Custom fonts are not an issue I particularly care about.)

@jswinden Embedded fonts work when publisher settings are turned on. I'm currently working on both enabling embedded fonts independent of publisher settings as well as side-loading them. Please bear with me - things are very hectic right now.

Heh, I didn't even know you could scroll down on those toolbars to show more options, like "switch to publisher's formatting." Half of the toolbar is hidden on the iPhone.

Me either, that's why I was confused about that option! I guess I need to read through the tutorial since it looks/works a bit different than the iPad version.

That is the result of an interface constraint that Apple foisted on developers. Kris has done the best he can, but there's only so much he can do to call attention that the tab is scrollable. Art

Here is my embedded Caecilia heavy font. Not bad, but definitely heavy enough for my old eyes to see well. ... |

Absolutely, that's why I opened a GitHub issue on it: https://github.com/kguil/Marvin-Roadmap/issues/116 Caecilia is a fantastic font -- the very best thing about the Kindle app! If possible, it would be nice if Marvin offered Caecilia, too.
