Around here I see none, with the exception of an old PRS-600 I gave to a friend. Other than that and my own reader it's all mobile phones and tablets.

On the trains here in Boston, I see a good mix of everything. Kindles, Nooks (Tabs & eink) 7-10 inch tabs & lots of smartphones, my own included.

I've seen dedicated ereaders while waiting for my folks in doctors' waiting rooms (mostly Kindles), but I was washing the heavy bed covers at a laundromat this past weekend and saw a Nook. I've only seen Kindles and Nooks, no other brands of ereaders -- except mine, of course.

I drove my daughter to a summer course at a local university and saw Ipads and various 7 inch tablets. I didn't see any dedicated ereaders. |

This. However, on my long Amtrak train ride from Pittsburgh to Philly today I did see one lady using a Kindle 3. Everyone else though had either a smartphone or tablet.

In the Yukon Territory I see mainly kindle. Most people I see daily are American travellers, but of the local people that actually use ereaders it is 2/3 kindle 1/3 Sony. Of people reading books electronically, slightly more are using tablets than readers. Kobos were once a common prize for different events in this town, but the winners never used them more than a week or so it I am told and I have yet to see one being used here.

A lot of people read in the Yukon, but only one actual bookstore AFAIK, located in the capital. People are just accustomed to the biggest source of books being used. Many of the libraries have more donated books than purchased ones. Still some communities without internet. Different demographics. Helen |

In cafes etc. I only ever see people with their smartphones and tablets. I've had a few people ask me "is that one of those Kindle's?" when I'm reading, but when I'm out and about I use my pocket sized Sony, and they just look at me a bit blankly when I say it's a Sony.... so now I figure it's probably just easier to say yes.

I see quite a few readers on my train commute; almost exclusively Kindles. I have noticed over the last year or so, though, that tablets are becoming much more common. I do read on my Nexus 7 on my commute - mainly because I use it at work as a tablet and I don't want to carry both. I still read on my Sony almost exclusively at home and on holiday though.

I see a lot of Kobos in Toronto, some Kindles, a few Sonys. Lots of phones and a fair number of iPads as well, but those are not always for reading. |

On the London Underground I've seen several people reading on their phones and also on ipads - although fair enough, if you're talking strictly eReaders, rather than electronic devices, the Kindle wins hands down.
