I doubt that card speed matters for ebook readers. Not much data is transferred at a time.

As for the Brand, It should usually not matter but I've had the best luck in most devices with Sandisk. I have a old Lexar card and another No brand one and while they work fine in most places, they did used to get corrupted in the Gen3 at times. Haven't had any such problems with the sandisk. | |

True - one does need an SD card for firmware reflashing. Good point!

There are many good commercial dictionaries, also from the upload section: Webster's Dictionary 1913 and GNU Collaborative International Dictionary of English. It is ok to install and use multiple dictionaries by the way.

Dictionary eBooks must be loose in the eBooks folder - don't put them inside a folder in the eBooks folder, or they won't be properly recognised as dictionaries. The Chambers 10th Edition special offer has finished now at fictionwise. |

How do you make an image appear for the cover of a book? Do you have to use a certain program?

When you create a book using a tool like "MobiPocket Creator", you specify the cover image as a part of the book creation process. Tompe's "Mobi2mobi" tool will, I believe, allow you to replace the cover of an existing book.

Oh, gosh! I am so tempted to order one of these at the £179.99 price since we are expecting a visit from some friends from England, and I could have it delivered to them and they could just bring it with them - but I'm very worried about the slow delivery times I'm hearing about. Our friends will be coming in less than a month, and I really don't want to deal with the hassle of having them mail it to us and dealing with customs, etc. if it doesn't arrive in time. The page shows that they are in stock, and the delivery page promises that "Orders going to UK addresses should be delivered within 1-3 working days of dispatch" - but this doesn't mean much to me if "dispatch" is delayed. *gnashes teeth, wrings hands* Has anyone ordered at the £179.99 price while they were in stock? And if so, how long before you received it? |

Thanks! It seems a safe bet except for that mystery "processing" period. I'm considering going ahead, because I imagine sooner-ordered-sooner-shipped, but still a bit concerned.
