Where was the hoopla? I missed it!

It's easy peasy once you get a Kindle I will walk you through it. I own 5 of them so yeah I consider myself an expert.

Really? Was yesterday's more than normal? Not that it matters to me, just one of the authors mentioned it. *shrugs* This is why I don't follow this stuff, it leaves me more time to read books!

Discovered three of the books restored from my trash are also non-downloadable. At least one of which I paid good money for, too. All three show desktop as an option for reading...

Does anyone wonder why Kobo is losing to Amazon in most markets?

Which is why I download the books right away and liberate them from drm. I also like to have at least 2 copies. One on my harddrive and one in the cloud. I don't trust any of them (kindle, kobo etc.) to keep my books in the library.

that's a good one...my alter ego could always gift me a book and then I can download it to using the pc app

ETA: Maybe we need a thread so people in different areas could gift a freebie to those in "less loved areas" kind of a trade thing - "You gift me this Canadian freebie and i'll gift you this US one "

A different email. I think you need Kindle for PC (BTW, there's no problem downloading there, the problem is downloading to a real Kindle), no direct download there.
