Book Ratings Site like IMDB for Books?
I've tried to find a good site to go and check out books before buying/reading but it's a bit hit or miss.
Is there a consistent site(s) that is similar to IMDB for books that the community keeps updated and votes their ratings etc. Any suggestions appreciated. Thanks Steve |

I agree, I read goodreads. It is very good as I always see conflicting views. Then you check those views against stuff you and they have read. To me this gives you the best chance of knowing if you would like or hate a book.

I like LibraryThing. You do need to read the long-form reviews because most books inspire separate groups of 'love it' to 'hate it' groups. Or find some particular reviewers who have your same tastes and sensibilities.
Don't forget Amazon also has ratings and long-form user reviews. |

I use Goodreads too and notice that Amazon has recently purchased them. I suspect we'll see some sort of integration in the near future...

GoodReads all the way for me.
I spend an unhealthy amount of time on there. Much more on the site than just book ratings also. |

Goodreads has so much more to offer than just rating books. I love the groups on there. Especially if you belong to a group that likes a genre you like. |
