Bad magic number for file header error
OK.... I imported a book to Calibre - OK

Downloaded metadata - OK

Double-click to open it on my PC - OK

Send it to device ("device" is iTunes) - I get that error.

Out of probably a thousand books sent to iTunes, this is the first one I've had this problem with.

Ideas? Thanks!

Could be that Calibre cannot talk to a newer version of iTunes.

Nope. Successfully loaded up a dozen other books in the same session. It's only this book that has a problem.

It could just be a corrupt file?

Assuming it is an epub have you checked whether you can open it in a ZIP archiver (epub files are ZIP files under the covers).

Maybe an ePub to ePub conversion would give it a Good magic number.

Don't ePub > ePub. Load it in Sigil and use FlightCrew to validate it. Also, saving it might fix the magic number.

No need: Sigil is one forum below.(Click the word Sigil in the forum description to get to the download)

Flight crew is built in. Load your book into Sigil. Click the Green Checkmark (the plain one) and wait for the results( takes a few to do ).

It's the fixing that takes the learn'n
