Question: Kindleberry Pi Help

Hello guys,

I am trying to SSH into my RPi from my kindle as in this guide. If I try to do 'ssh pi@192.168.2.1' however the terminal just hangs for ages and then says the connection time out.

I can ssh into my pi from my kindle via my network so I assume I have done something wrong with usbnetworking? The guide I linked seemed to suggest you didn't have to do anything to get the pi to accept ssh via the usb port (though I have got my pi assigning the ip address 192.168.2.1 automatically).

Can anyone help me troubleshoot this? Thanks for any help.

first things first...

can you ssh into the pi from itself?

can you ping the pi?

stuff like that

Thanks for replying so quickly.

I found my problem. One of the first steps in the guide I linked was to do an ifconfig but I used the same ip for both devices. Once I had my pi using 192.168.2.1 and kindle using 192.168.2.2 it worked.
