Games Workshop wants to trademark Space Marines? - Page 3

(Apologies for the multiple posts, but each is on a slightly different subject.)

The book itself, "Spots the Space Marine", looks to be an unusual and entertaining read. It's written as a screenplay rather than prose fiction. I was reading the reviews on Amazon of the paperback version and was intrigued.

I've just bought the ebook which is still available on Smashwords.

Good to see reason prevailed over financial pressure for Amazon. Or maybe GW themselves backed off on their claims?

My twitter feed (mostly SF authors) was full of folks changing screen names to something-Space Marine or Space Marine-something. Kind of funny.

Of course the new "Space Marines" are far more advanced and far more silly than Poul Anderson's were. It appears that the company that owns them is also silly. Kind of like Apple and MS, trying to trademark, patent, copyright old expressions.

I'm sure that GW has used ships in space, and called them "spaceships". I imagine that'll be the next target.
