Odysey, all of them. Updating the second one. Or trying too. It seam to to be doing the same thing as with the last update ! Stuck to updating. Seriously, bookeen

The only new thing I notice, there is a new menu setting that allows the Frontlight to remember the light status when you turn it off and on again.

Did you do the update via wi-fi ?

I've been trying to revive the cybook, no luck so far.

No, I always do it manually. My advice is to search for errors on the Bookeen. Of course that should happen before the update when the device was still alive...
Others (on a German forum) did it succesfully via WLAN though.
Update took all in all not longer then 15 minutes, I think everything taking longer is not normal.

Well, my cybook is definitively bricked.

My advice is to search for errors on the Bookeen. Of course that should happen before the update when the device was still alive...

Not sure, last time it did that. Then finally restarted, updated and all.

Enhanced and record battery life

For all models: A single charge now lasts up to 9 weeks, based on a half hour of reading per day (1 page refresh per minute and wireless off).
For the HD FrontLight model: Up to 9 weeks with FrontLight off, up to 8 weeks with FrontLight on.
Note: Battery life depends on usage, user settings and many other factors.

New features & improvements

“PDF Reflow” option.
Option to memorize FrontLight state in sleep mode (HD FrontLight only).
Improved hyphenation rules (ePub, Txt, Html, Fb2).
Faster USB connectivity.
Shorter boot time.
New boot images.
On-screen information regarding power states (device in deep-sleep or shutdown).
Improved Wi-Fi management including captive proxies.
Note: Some of the previous items were already available in versions 5.0.1650 & 5.1.1755.

Fixes

Better interaction with Adobe Digital Editions 2.0.
Bookmarks: A single bookmark could be visible twice on 2 adjacent pages.
Some malformed documents (PDF or ePub) could lead to a crash.
Table of content: Shortcut via page header lead to inconsistent level 1 items.
Under particular timings, some events (esp. touch taps or button pushes) could seem to be ignored and were processed with the next event.
Corrupted microSD cards could generate a random behavior or a freeze of the device.
Some USBMS operations could freeze the device when unplugging the USB cable.

That was already fixed in 5.1, so I doubt it came back with 5.2. This is not Kobo!

The Kindle Touch was discontinued yet Amazon updated the firmware.

The Sony T1 was discontinued yet Sony updated the firmware.

Firmware updates do happen for older models. Not as often, but they do. Some may find it annoying to go to the site, log in or register and then find out their device was not the one with the firmware update.

I've had that bug since day one on my Odyssey HD FL. I forgot to check which firmware it had before the upgrade to 5.2 but it can't have been 5.1 then.
