Using kindle app interface

I have recently acquired a Nexsus 7 tablet. I have registered it on Kindle, but when I try to transfer my books, I get a failure message. Any ideas?

What kind of failure message? Is wi-fi on?

Furthermore, from where are you trying to transfer the ebooks? Amazon? Calibre? Drag and drop?

If you have a tablet then shouldn't you be using the Kindle App the same way as you do on a smartphone? You log into your Amazon account & download the book to the phone and read via the app. Or am I missing something?
