I'm starting a small glass of tequila. I had a vegetarian chili for dinner, and I saved the tequila for later in the evening. It is now later in the evening.

Ice-cold cider sounds like a big improvement on cold coffee

Warm coffee in mine, though my Mother has just arrived for a stay, so it will be something a lot stronger soon...

Ethiopia. Interesting choice. Tons of history which should be interesting.

Water in my cup. Getting nervous because I am starting to cough again. Breathing feels fine, nothing gurgly, but then there is the cough. If this continues over the weekend, I am going to the Doctor on Monday. It might be time to look for a specialist.

Asthma sufferers: Do you tend to find you have a cough when you have an asthma attack?

Well, you know what they say about guests and fishes: both keep fresh for only three days....... But enjoyable all the same.

I don't like to 'be fried on the beach', so I try to see something else. It's so nice to be able to visit all. Today I met someone who lives in Khyrgyzia, in Karakol. I've been there this year, so I know the place and we had a nice talk about the different things there.

Yes, it has an interesting history, being the home to the Queen of Sheba (from the Bible) and it said to have housed the Covenant. Also it seem to be the site where the early Homo Sapiens emerged about 400.000 years ago. And the find place of the over 3 million year old skeleton(40% of it) of what is considered the first upright walking homoid, 'Lucy'.
I have some serious reading to do before I go and am rather thrilled that there has been an Islamic period as well.

Off to a coffee shop to get some go-go juice. I am interview a potential employee in a about 20 mins. So far is is the ONLY decent person to apply for the position. So he might get the job as the "most" (aka only) qualified candidate.

How exciting to be able to visit so many exciting places that many people only dream about being able to visit. History is fascinating, isn't it?

orlok - mom. I use to have that situation 3 times a year, but now I have moved back closer to the family.... Sometimes, I dream of the old days...

Yes, mine has recently moved from 7,000 miles away (which I could cope just fine with) to about 100 miles away... You might think I'm being a bit ungreatful, but an hour or two whilst I explain may soften your view a little.

Found out I will have to have another root canal [fracture in a molar underneath an old filling] next week - so my cup will be filled with lots of alcoholic beverages - for both the pain & the fear - going in Wednesday to the endodonist for an evaluation - see if the tooth can be saved or not. Think I'll splurge on some Lagavulin this weekend - for medicinal purposes of course!

Sigh ... I hate teeth! Most of my fillings are now older than many MR members!
