				January 2013 Book Club Vote
January 2013 MobileRead Book Club Vote Help us choose a book as the January 2013 eBook for the MobileRead Book Club. The poll will be open for 5 days. There will be no runoff vote unless the voting results a tie, in which case there will be a 3 day run-off poll between the two most popular choices. If there is a 3-way or more tie for first place, we will have a runoff poll with more than two choices. This is a visible vote: others can see how you voted. It is multiple-choice: you may cast a vote for each book that appeals to you. We will start the discussion thread for this book on January 20th. As much as my MBTI says I'm an I with a vengeance, I just don't want to discuss it. The robot in me won.

Oh dear! I have almost a handful that I can't decide between! And also the one I mentioned in the "books they couldn't pay me money to read" topic! LOL! Wonder if I'm going to vote on all of the "good" ones or pick a couple... Hmmm... I think I'll wait a day or so and think about it some more! Last edited by Asawi; 12-21-2012 at 07:12 AM. |

Hmmm... I can't find an ebook of The King of Elfland's Daughter by Lord Dunsany. The Inkmesh link now reads "No longer available, and Google Books says "No eBook available." EDIT: It's in our library. Last edited by WT Sharpe; 12-21-2012 at 10:55 AM. |

I did cast a vote for The King of Elfland's Daughter as I thought it might be interesting to read such an old fantasy story. I am surprised by its lead. However, I'm now starting my anti-I Robot campaign. Don't let the robots win! Magic over machines! |

I, Robot is a wonderful book that has served to inspire countless writers of books, movies, and television series. Does the phrase "positronic brain" ring a bell? With all due respect to Dr. Drib, I don't really care for fantasy; that goes double for 100 years old fantasy tales. |

Now - the race is getting more predictable. I thought Persuasion would be one of the favourites and it's certainly made its move through the field. | |

A number of these look interesting; here's my campaign pitches: "Be persuaded by Persuasion!" "Outpour your votes to Outlander!" "Let's take a ride on the Necropolis Railway!" "Voters wanted for Grave Robbers Wanted!" "Think Idle Thoughts!" (Hm...) "Fantasise about The King of Elfland's Daughter!" (That one didn't work out quite right ) Last edited by sun surfer; 12-22-2012 at 06:22 AM. |
