Next: Sabazel by Lillian Stewart Carl. Another fantasy, first in a series, apparently. Let's see if I like it. I hope I do, as I seem to have bought the others in the series at the same time, back in June 2007!

Now I am going to read Mr. Popper's Penguins by Richard and Florence Atwater. It has been over 20 years since I have read this and I want to see if it is appropriate for my kids or not yet. Should be a fun and quick read.

Me too, and I was pleasantly surprised at its depth. The characters were very well-drawn and of a type to draw in the reader's interests. This story will stick with me for quite a while.

I'm reading The Last Policeman. I can't seem to get away from apocalyptic tales. I understand this is part of a trilogy? I got it from the library and am enjoying it thus far. Warm Bodies was good. It was such a different take on Zombies. I would have liked to find out more about what happens after...As I was typing that, I checked in on Goodreads and the author is writing a sequel! It may be coming out in 2014. Still listening to The Wind-up Bird Chronicles by Murakami. I don't get too much chance to listen on weekends as that is when I read and I don't have the long commute that necessitates audiobooks that I do during the week. |

I just began Dickens' A Christmas Carol. I've seen several movie versions of the tale but never actually read it until now. I might read the other Dickens Christmas stories when I'm done.

I read it for the first time last Christmas season. I think I'll have to read it again this year. Thanks for the reminder.
