Yes, across the top it does say whether it's Sleep or Powered off mode, but both modes much show the cover page or both modes must show the happy face. You can't have one mode showing the happy face and the other mode showing the cover.

A few things I've noticed about this version:

After my complaint about not being able to check the time with one tap any more in 2.0.0, I see that the time now appears at the top of the screen for 1 second when I tap the middle of the page to pop up the reading settings.

They've made it harder to get to the Settings from the home page.

I really wish that Kobo would stop second-guessing themselves on the UI design. In my opinion they are fiddling without improving overall. Just concentrate on fixing bugs and improving performance!

Finally updated !!! But i'm not pleased with that BIG bottom bar on the home screen, i liked some of the missing fonts and why the hell dit they move the settings button?

On the Touch, there is still effectively only 1 font that 'works' (Georgia). Choosing other fonts resutls in either missing glyphs, or bold/italics wonkiness, or both.

Do the new fonts on the Glow also exibit this behaviour? I'm really loath to buy yet another Kobo just to test basic square 1 function.

As far as I remember from the threads, it has only fixed the reboot on reading a book off the SD card bug. I'm sure if something else was fixed,

The annotation selection cursor big is still there. The page bookmark 'show on page' leaving the top menu on the screen bug is still there.

A few minor features have been reportedly added.

Of course, we don't know for sure, as we have no actually received any notification from Kobo that a new release has occurred.

After all the trouble I had with my koboTouch I decided against it. Too close to Christmas anyways. Maybe a good Boxing Day sale and a few more firmware updates. Quite satisfied with my Sony T1 anyways. But I do appreciate your input.

Still with 1.9.17 on mine but then since 2.1.4 I have refused to further update my Kobo, as far as I am concerned anything above 1.9.17 is just crap. Unfortunately as that is what comes with the Glo, I am also not buying one.

Yes, because a sharper screen, a more responsive page turn, and more fonts are crap. And a side-lit screen is garbage.

Got 2.1.5 (r43939 10/12/12) on my KT here in Calif. at 4:30pm PDT Fri. Desktop at first just sync'd books etc. but I hit refresh and it downloaded the update quickly and then rebooted quickly.

I look forward to working with shelves and Calibre. Page turns to seem faster, but in Settings/Device Info/Warranty & Legal, page turns are s-l-o-w and for each page there's a popup that says what page you're on. 125 pages of legalese!

On my homescreen, to the right of Discover, there's a stubby black arrow with "20" in it. What is this?

New also is the line of text at the bottom, "Your Wishlist is Empty." Can I get this to go away if I put something on the wishlist? I really hate Kobobooks being pushy.

Make sure you gave the latest version. I put a performance improvement in the latest driver that is very noticeable if you have a lot of books on the device.

That is used in a lot of places. They change from arrows with "Page x of y" to a slider and the popup when the number of pages to display goes up.

It means there are 20 books in the "Discover" list. I've never been able to work out why it is important.

Nope. It changes to show how many books are in the Wishlist.

That's the number of recommended books. Or the number of new recommended books since the last update.
