The problem with non-functioning keys is known. Same happened in xterm. Kindle framework grabs some keys. For what reason, I don't know.

Thank you! I chose the latter problem with a script TCL. At the top of the screen there are three buttons:
1."kill-key" - closing the keyboard.
2. "run-key" - opening the keyboard.
3. "Exit" - the closure of the program.

Content "Utils" unpacked in /mnt/us/
Content "etcl" unpacked in /mnt/us/
Content "evilvte" unpacked in /mnt/us/extensions
Restart.
If you have not used ETCL, the first launch of the new buttons will be 30 seconds. Subsequent launches will be much faster.

There is a button to go to the English keyboard layout. But if you do not like it, you can replace the folder "layouts" in the original English version of the BAF.

Brilliant, I guess this serves as a template for adjustments such as KNC1 has suggested - or for games where applicable : )

wish I could get SDL to swallow the X events. ho hum :\ Great work and also good thoughts on the adjustments. I'll have a dig through the source later
