There is absolutely no evidence that the growth in France was due to HADOPI. It's like saying that if a person empties a glass of water into the sea when the tide rises the action is responsible for the for the rise in water level.

Here's an info graph that shows the before and after effects of Hadopi: Not really as clear a trend line as Kali Yuga's post would have had me believe. And actually, revenue from music declined slightly in 2011 even though digital sales increased. Last edited by Ninjalawyer; 09-14-2012 at 02:09 PM. |

You couldn't possibly be thinking that someone should be legally responsible for someone else hijacking their PC... or could you? I mean... if someone steals my car and uses to commit a robbery, should I go to jail? You MUST be kidding.

And the slogan from an ad campaign in the 1980s And a relatively recent Greek slogan that reads "Piracy Kills Music": Progress: Killing the music industry for more than 80 years. Last edited by Ninjalawyer; 09-15-2012 at 03:47 PM.

Note that parking tickets are given out on the first strike. If you reported your car stolen at the time, that will indeed be a strong defense. If you claim someone must have taken your car on a joyride, the judge will have to decide on your credibility. This definitely calls for the old "cite, please."

$190 is ridiculously lenient. They are doing him a favor. If they extradite him to the US and leave him to the tender mercies of the **AA, he'd be paying $600,000 for sharing 12 songs.
