The iPhone 5 may not be an earth shattering upgrade. But it is a better phone then the iPhone 3 series. I have the 3G and th iPhone 5 will make a nice upgrade.

YES, me too!!

BUT, it is their music I like. I even named my 16' HobyCat "Afternoon's Delight" after one of their songs, since the San Diego bay winds only came up in the afternoon. It seems that a lot of music groups seem to need to make fools of themselves for publicity.

So the question is: will the Android handset makers be content with the portion of the market (bigger than what Apple has) that they have...or will they make move to take away a significant portion of those pretty profitable users that Apple has a grip on? It's obvious bigger brighter wider alone won't do it if they want them.

The original iPod would not exist in turn Apple would not be what it is today if it had not stolen the ui for the iPod from creative and earned enough to make iphone and all the rest that came later. Steve Jobs was a great marketer and apple is to able to get the best out of the tech available but all its so called innovations are built on other peoples work and then turn around call those people thieves that really annoys me

So why creative not sell? Even if true, mp3 player more than UI.

And similarly iTunes built on the ground prepared by Soundjam, Audion and Napster. Better, yes, and a huge success, but it didn't appear suddenly from nowhere.

Forgetting the UI altogether (of which apple did refine and perhaps even innovate) the original ipod's form factor and especially its click wheel were innovative at the time.

Again, I am not claiming apple products are the end all and be all. But the assertion that apple was not innovative after the 90's is false.

As TechCrunch recently wrote, there are two companies making money in the smartphone space right now: Apple, and the company Apple just won a billion dollar-plus judgement against for copying their smartphone designs.

People who think modern touchscreen smartphones would exist in their present form without the iPhone are deluded. Same goes for tablets and the iPad.
