Voice control - your K5 has a built in microphone and speaker dependant voice recognition is not all that compute intensive.

inside a plastic waterproof case ? I look forward to testing your implementation.... I used XQueryTree to isolate the readers main window (it has 3!) and explicitly gave that window the focus before injecting a mouse event but unfortunately the reader application still stops responding ![]() Not too sure what approach to try next... |

Do not soak so long that you wrinkle or the battery runs down. Do not execute computation intensive code during periods of silence (like a VOX function). Do not sing in the shower. Put a flex diaphragm in the case to transfer the sound. Think doctor's stethoscope. Refer to the various audio threads here to get details of bring the audio input up to a usable level. Twobob did a lot of work on that, as did other members. |

I used the "waitforkey" command, which actually returns keycodes for up/down/left/right events (when the accelerometer is enabled). I sensed a quick "right then left" or "left then right" within 500 msec as "shake" events. You could also enable a "clapper" page forward and back, using the microphone. Perhaps one clap forward, two claps back. Or whistle or toungue-clicks, or whatever... ![]() Last edited by geekmaster; 08-27-2012 at 06:31 PM. |

Thanks, that triggered the memory,
I recall you writing of the differences in behavior with different firmware versions now. If the little rubber ducky you take to the bath with you has a "clicker" in it ... Maybe just setup a cron job to advance to the next page after an xx delay. Learn to speed read at the same time you scrub your pits. Isn't that what people call "multi-tasking"? Yup, lots of ideas here. Some of them not all that "mad". ![]() Last edited by knc1; 08-27-2012 at 05:56 PM. |
