I voted for The Swerve (Pulitzer AND National Book Award!), but I'd happily read Edwards, Barthes, or Bible Unearthed.

I'm having a very hard time deciding between The Sex Lives of Cannibals and A Thousand Miles Up the Nile. I'm also very interested in The Bible Unearthed. Of the rest, I'm also interested in My Life in France and others, and think the vote group this month is very diverse and interesting. |

I'm trying to decide between The Bible Unearthed and one of the ones I nominated: "Surely You're Joking, Mr. Feynman!" I think each of them should win and we should read both.

Bryson was already on my TBR, so I voted for his book. There are a couple of the others I would consider reading as well, and some I won't...

I'm trying to decide between A Short History of Nearly Everything and My Life in France. Both got my nod and both are supposedly very good and both are available via Overdrive for FREE.

I'm going to read Steve Jobs whether it wins or not, so I voted for it so that I can have someone to talk to about it!

Swerve and The Bible Unearthed sound like worthwhile books, though the premises alone aren't enough to recommend them (however admirable). I have to vote for Mythologies because semiotics can change the way the reader interprets cultural assumptions, news and advertising forever. It can change the way you see and, therefore, change your life.

Sex Lives of Cannibals has been on my Audible wishlist for a while so I voted for that. I wouldn't mind Anne Frank winning because I'm going to be reading it anyway.

I just voted for "Surely You're Joking, Mr. Feynman!" I think I'd prefer to read The Bible Unearthed first, but I voted for the Feynman book because I think it has more of a chance than the other (not that either has a chance the way things are going). I must be a real oddball because not only is non-fiction my favorite category, these are the only two books this month that really cry out to me to be read. I guess everyone just has other interests.

After Amelia Peabody, I wanted to meet the real Amelia! Whatever is chosen (and there are many excellent options), A Thousand Miles Up the Nile is going on my TBR list--especially when MR has such an excellent free copy available. |

Let's see... This is a family friendly forum, so a sex book is out. This is not the politics and religion forum so the bible is out. |

@WT Sharpe: I think you'd like Mythologies. Even though you've voted already I can still attempt to convince you to read it in the future.

Also, that would eliminate your other nomination, My Life in France, since we all know that Julia Child was an unstoppable nymphomaniac. | |

You must not have read the description if you think that The Sex Lives of Cannibals is about sex...
