Only "android" device I have is the Fire. So I like that the music is in there when I want it through amazon. I have a roku and I read that the player will be added to that, so it would be nice to have that. I ripped some of my older CD's and that is why I am over the limit. I also use the library for the freegal service where you get 3 songs free each week and I just used to upload them right into the Player. I don't own a mp3 player or such. |

Hmm, I was one of those that didn't have the free promo 20G, and I definitely get the separate pricing for the two services myself. Not worth it for me, I'll keep using Google (I found the android player for amazon to be a little annoying when I tried using it, but it's been a little while). I have to admit, it'd be kinda nice if google did the match thing too, because uploading takes forever. Although that said, Amazon didn't seem to have a lot of luck when "upgrading" the things I had already in cloud player. Only 31 of 194 were upgraded. Although it's possible that everything else was already higher quality, I tend to rip at a pretty reasonable quality level. No way to tell looking at cloud player what the quality level is it appears though, and I'm too lazy to match it up with my hard drive collection. |

My free promo ends next week. I'll let it revert to the free version - 5GB and 250 songs. How about the rest of you with this promo; what are your plans?

I'm fine with staying with the free version. If I outgrow my free storage allotment, I'll start archiving songs on SD cards.

Same. I basically use it as an extra backup for my Amazon purchases and will sometimes use the Android or iThing app to stream that music and that won't change with the free version.

I can tell you the match is buggy! You can't really tell which is match and what is uploaded but I figured it out I think. When it goes to import the match songs are immediately added and the progress bar moves up quickly then when it slows down those songs are actually being uploaded. Even out of songs tagged with Amazon music meta data it gets like only half the songs on the first try and maybe more songs if I delete, empty trash and try again. If songs are more then 256 CBR it auto uploads the songs and doesn't match. Amazon needs to add what songs were matched and what songs were uploaded. It's a mess! It would be nice to hide Xmas music I purchased last year I had deleted it but it put it back. I find using Media Monkey's Auto Tag from Web (New Toy for me) and MP3tag using Amazon Metadata I get better matches.

Last week, I imported just under 400 songs to try out the feature (not impressed enough to pay for it). Before then, I had never imported any songs to the Player. So today, I deleted the entire imported folder. I'm back to zero and will keep it that way.
