Wrong conversion of degree and ordinal symbol

I've noticed a little issue with last release (0.8.63), when running recipes from sites which use the ISO-8859-1 charset. Both degree and masculine ordinal symbol (° - 0xb0 and º - 0xba) are converted to "o". No big deal, but they were correctly translated before IIRC. |

Fast as ever, Kovid BTW, I was mistaken at the OP. The problem only happened with the ordinal symbol, degrees were OK. I was mislead by an article with many temperature forecasts which was using the ordinal symbol instead of degrees. This is a common mistake in Spanish media as the default keyboard has the ordinal but not degree, so I guess it's easier to type. And they're virtually indistinguishable in most fonts. In handwritten form I've always seen the "o" underscored, but don't know why most fonts omit this. |

I've just noticed wrong conversion in the "preview" of periodical ebooks (see attached image). This only happens in such preview (don't know the name, but is the default when you open a new periodical ebook and in the Kindle Touch is symbolized by a 2x2 grid icon). As the article text is fine this is almost a non-issue, but maybe you want to have a look for the shake of perfection. Yep, is hot here |
