Amazon just sent me an advert for my own book

They must've noticed I keep looking at it but never buy it. Why can't they send the advert to people who don't look at it instead?

If you keep looking at it , then it shows that you are interested in it, maybe they are thinking that you are waiting for a price reduction, or a special offer. I keep looking at my own book, but never had an advert for it. | |

I never get them, because I opted out (Your Account page -> E-mail Preferences & Notifications). There is a "Do not send me marketing e-mail" radio button, which is what I have selected. Alternatively, you can pick & choose what e-mails you want to receive.

I've gotten a few emails like that from Amazon too (though not about a book I wrote) and I am in the US. Sometimes I'll look over a DVD set or a book and a little while later Amazon sends out an ad about this selection of books (or this DVD set) which includes the one I was looking at.
