There are alternatives to either of those tablets at or near the same price point. The 7" Polaroid 702c has a faster processor than the kf, but also has a microsd card slot, a front camera, a volume button, android 4.0, and can easily be found for under $100. The Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 has a faster processor, a front camera, a microsd card slot, android 4.0, a volume button, a much nicer screen, and costs about $250. There are plenty of other examples, you just have to look around a bit and you can find some really great overlooked 7" tablets. |

Yeah, the screen on the Polaroid 702c is lacking, but at less than $100 for an otherwise nifty tablet, that's not too bad of a trade off.

I have the 701i (ICS, TV out, microSD slot, but no camera) and it is a worthy device for the $90 that Big Lots sells it for.

A lot of those things can be fixed with driver rewrites. Specifically the microphone, touch detection, and to an extent, ghosting. Charging too.

There's nothing the average consumer needs to know. The update comes over the air and you simply get a pop-up telling you that an update is ready and to press OK to get the process started. Your average grandma could do it.

Lots of folks don't NEED it (including myself), doesn't mean they don't want it! |

I already have an iPad, a smaller tablet device has no appeal top me. I also have a Sony T1 for reading. |
