KT jailbroken on 5.1.0 using website method

What happens if/when Amazon update it to 5.1.1? Will I lose the jailbreak?

Nobody knows what would happen, as the Amazon hasn't released the 5.1.1 over the air update yet. It could delete some files related to jailbreak. Or it could brick your Kindle (this often happens when updating with various patches enabled). You should uninstall all hacks before updating to new version.

EDIT: see eureka's post for tested methods There is a file, /etc/updater.conf in where you can tune it's settings. There isn't option to disable updates, but you can for example change min battery level to 110% (untested).Or you can rename otaup binary to something else (untested too). @eureka: Would you mind updating the Wiki page with this? There already is a section on the internals, but maybe a short paragraph about disabling them could be useful. Pretty please |
