I've never read Pynchon. Any recommends for an intro to Pynchon?

Very happy about this--Pynchon is one of those authors that I think might be easier to read in ebook format.

I always assumed that Pynchon's books were already available as e-books, if you get my meaning. I've never read any of his books but I thought the premise of one of them (I think "V") was intriguing: V-2 rockets landing wherever a certain person has been.

It was just a couple of weeks ago that I was clicking the 'I'd like to read this on Kindle' links for Pynchon's books on Amazon. That was fast!! too bad this is Penguin, still Agency and still silly pricing (i.e. a bit higher than paperback editions, not to mention used editions). Based on past experience, it will take me several months to read just one of them, but I do find the experience rewarding and am looking forward to reading them in ebook form over time. I simply cannot tolerate reading print books any more, as I travel a lot and it is hard to keep them conveniently at hand so that I can actually read them. Seems like there is still a ton of 'backlist' that has yet to make it to digital, however. |
