@twjohn: In this case yes, but I get 2 tines a day RSS-news (I made a linux-script) and I download them daily. Earlier it was easier.

Does firmware 4.1 have the same line height bug that firmware 5.1 has?

So I got a book on my Kindle today, and I went to change the font size, and I saw a new option "Publisher Font -- on/off". So I turned it on and low and behold, a font that the publisher wanted to use! I've never seen this option before (although I don't really change font sizes that often). Is this new to firmware 4.1 or have I just missed it before?

@Zeebra: It's a KF8 feature, so, yeah, it's 'new' (KT 5.1.0/K4 4.1.0).

Yes I know but I have to turn wifi off once I sync to furthest page and then turn it back on to sync to the server when I am done reading and then turn it back off. It alot of jumping around when on my K3 I can do from the home menu and in book menu.

I've done that already. The replacement was much better than the first one sent which looked Vizplex with dark grey screen. The one I have now is light grey with Almost black text. The problem is Caecilia is such a light weight font it blends in with the background so I use a custom font that has weight added to it.

I know some who had to get theirs replace up to 4 times before they got one with good contrast. I don't want to chance getting one like my first one or the same as I have now.

Silly question but when I look at a book in the Kindle store, how can I tell if it's been formatted with KF8?

@Zeebra: AFAIK, you can't. Only way to verify that is to download the sample to a KF8 capable device (K4 >= 4.1.0, KT >= 5.1.0, KFire, a recent K4Mac/PC).

Ok.

I haven't seen a weaker wifi signal as reported by Gondolkodo but I have left wifi on during the last few days since I upgraded to 4.1.0, & the battery indicator hasn't moved much, so possibly Amazon has tweaked the radio to reduce power consumption?

Could you perhaps both try leaving on wifi for a few days to see if in fact you could live with that, assuming you can charge Kindle at reasonable intervals?

I think you both upgraded the firmware, yes?

It may be possible to swap the menu positions of "Shop in Kindle Store" with "Settings" to save some keypressing, but I haven't yet looked at that in detail.

I used the password of 4.0.1 and I could log in without problems. 1st option that I had luck, 2nd is that it works.

Thanks, I'm an idiot I should have thought of trying the sample first!

I just updated to 4.1.0 last night. I did not have any custom screensavers at that time. After the update, I followed the directions to add the screensaver folder through Putty and the folder was added successfully. However, I added screensavers to that folder only to have a blank screen. Then I tried a restart and still got a blank lock screen. I then tried removing screensavers, restarting, and then adding one at a time and restarting. I didn't work.
