[QUOTE=CRussel;2093172]Ryder Hesjedal had a massive ride today, taking 2nd overall on the stage, but more importantly, taking critical time out of every other GC (general classification) rider. This was supposed to be the stage where he was put back in his place, and instead he took time from all the other contenders and was clearly the strongest rider in the GC. Only one more mountain stage left, tomorrow, and then a final time trial. Hesjedal is the best time trial rider by far amongst the current leaders, so he's looking like the favourite to win.
Peet's Anniversary Breakfast Blend. Made from the new Zojirushi. .[/QUOTEHaven't been following the cycling, still not really back into routine. Can't be long till Le tour then, not sure if i can live through the lack of sleep that causes. |

![]() I get up in the morning, fix my breakfast, and sit down to watch it while I eat. Then go do some work, come back for lunch, and watch some more. Finally finish up in the evening. Normally, I don't watch any other races except Le Tour, but with Hesjedal having such a great Giro, we are watching with some interest. But I miss not having Phil Liggett commentating. Quote:

It's a mighty hard row that my poor hands have hoedMy poor feet have traveled a hot dusty road Out of your Dust Bowl and Westward we rolled And your deserts were hot and your mountains were cold Green pastures of plenty from dry desert ground From the Grand Coulee Dam where the waters run down Every state in the Union us migrants have been We'll work in this fight and we'll fight till we win ![]() ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BH2DJvgNlMA ) Good morning, everyone. It's a nice Sunday morning here and I'm celebrating it with a mug of unbranded Keemun tea and some fresh croissants. Quote:
These croissants are pretty good! And with the Keemun tea, making me 'mouth happy!' Stitchawl |

Over here it all happens in the evening through to the wee small hours and when Cadel is in with a chance we have to watch till the bitter end. Even when he's not I usually can't tear myself away. And I agree it's never the same without Phil Liggett's commentary. |

Just been to the markets and afterwards for a great coffee and yummy choc/orange/cointreau tart. Bliss! Now a walk and then it's the big game to watch (local aussie rules derby between the two WA teams) |

We went to the Farmers Market yesterday and got some great sausages and bread. Yummy stuff. We had a few friends over, grilled, I drank 4 ounces of a yummy beer, which was nice. A good day.
Today is lazy. Got up, made some bacon and eggs. Chilling in bed with a napping hubby and dogs. Contemplating a nap myself. Then laundry (out of underware). Life is good. Thanks to all who have sacrificed so much so that the rest of us can have the opportunities and freedoms we have today. Rolling Thunder is this weekend. All I could think of is that the various hundreds of folks I saw on motorcycles are all nuts. I saw wussy helmets and not one person wearing any type of Kevlar. Most where in shorts and t-shirts. |

A daring time trial ride where he let it all hang out, and he takes 47 seconds out of Rodriguez to win the Giro d'Italia by 16 seconds, the second closest Giro win ever. This is the rider whose nickname on his team is "weight of a nation", and he is the first Canadian to ever stand on any cycling Grand Tour final podium. In celebration of Ryder's win, the only choice to drink today is clearly Lion Mountain Keemun.

When I was unemployed I justified keeping my cable and DVR (same thing as TiVO) as a cheaper source of entertainment than any thing lse available. The DVR is great for skipping commercials and rewatching parts of shows that my husband decides to talk over or the dogs decide to bark through. Love it.
Ok, tired of heartburn. On the plus side, I am getting more then enough calcium thanks to the Tums that I take whenever I move from a vertical to horizontal position these days. |

On DVRs v. TiVo. That's a lot like comparing tea in a bag to a good loose tea. Unfortunately, the functionality of TiVo here in Canada is severely limited because the idiot CRTC let's the various local cable companies in Canada each use completely proprietary solutions that force you to use their decoder/set-top-box. Sigh. So we record in Analog on the TiVo and use a Windows 7 computer for downloading any HD content we want. Continuing with more Lion Mountain Keemun. |
