Wishlist: Kobo Software (not Firmware)

Seeing as there isn't already a thread on the Kobo Software itself, here are a few "I wish" items:
  1. No automatic syncing of your library when you plug in you Kobo. Make if a preference:
    • Sync all books.
    • Sync only books I choose.
    • Sync previews.
    • Sync ONLY previews I choose. A must, I have over 150 previews set up in my library as books I want to buy in the future (kinda of like bookmarking them for future purchase) I DON'T want them on my Kobo though. They are just there as a reminder of what books I am interested in buying.
  2. Sync my Reading Life (sideloaded epubs). Separate from syncing books/previews
  3. Check for Firmware updates, again something that is automatically done but should be a preference for those that DON'T want to upgrade their firmware just yet but still want to sync their books/reading life.
  4. I know that shelves are in the KT firmware but not enabled (stop screwing around with facebook sh!t and get this working). When you do get this working make the software work in conjuction with the Kobo. In other words make it so you can create book shelves in the software and transfer then to the Kobo. Actually I'd like to be able to create book shelves right now in the software to organize my books.
  5. The ablility to organize sideloaded books. I know lots of people use Calibre but it would really be nice to be able to do this in the Kobo software as well. This would be great especially if shelves were working.

I know I have some other features I would like to see but I can't think of them at the moment. This software has so much potential but currently is so limited it's frustrating that I ONLY use it to get a firmware update and even then I hesitate to use it. The only preference you can currently set is Language... seriously? I reiterate my comment above about Facebook. Put the software/firmware people to better use and actually put in features people want? Rather than ego stroking those that think they have a life and need to tell everyone about what they are doing every second of the day thinking people really care.

If you look at the firmware request sticky, I think you will find that people are posting this kind of comment/request there rather than in thread that makes a distinction between firmware and software. I'm not saying thee is no difference between the two, but I know the developers do look at the sticky and this thread may just face into the back pages.

I know but I really wanted to make a distinction between the firmware and software. I figure it's a 50/50 chance this will get lost either way, considering how big the firmware request thread is. But I'm hoping the developers will at least see this once and give it some consideration.
