I use text messages for most of my personal communications. Email (which I rarely get) is for home use. Works great for my old school flip phone.

I still think that one touch on the email notification to see if there is an email from mom is easier.

And from the experiences noted above as well as those of my friends, likely to be four times as accurate.

Have you actually seen what happens once some mums get to grips with email... I've got one friend who gets 10-20 emails a day now... he doesn't want to know that he's received email(s) from mum - he knows that, there's a pile of them in his Inbox (all with weird subjects), what he wants is the SPECIFIC content of ONE email if it's arrived and that is one of the points of siri and that would be a damn sight simpler than seeing a pile of emails have come from mum...

If you're happy with your system and knowing that you have email rather than just checking content with a simple phrase, it doesn't really matter, you are never going to understand why some people really like this approach... personally I still think that Voice Recognition still has a long way to go... great when it works but either hilarious or intensely irritating when it doesn't...

My first Apple Quadra had voice recognition. That was 1995. I called it Manuel.

I would love to see an add saying:
Siri - a way to ignore your nagging mother while still being able to get that recipe you wanted.
